Our History

In 1952, CJ Fouts and his brother Jerry started their first business in Smyrna, GA, Fouts Bros Sinclair Service Station. This was the beginning of a 41-year partnership. CJ and Jerry remained business partners and best friends till Jerry's passing in 1995.

We opened our doors as Fouts Bros Fire Equipment in 1990. Back then we specialized in small custom trucks and used Tankers. Over the years, Fouts Bros Fire Equipment has developed its own reputation nationally as a premier apparatus provider of affordable fire equipment.

Today, We're still family owned and operated with second and third generation family members highly involved in the day-to-day management of the company but Fouts Bros looks and operates differently than the small service station in downtown Smyrna that CJ started in 1952. However CJ's vision, work ethic and determination will always be pillars of our family business.

Why we believe in standardization

Fouts Bros Fire Equipment owners, management and staff realized in our early years that there was a growing need to standardize a 3000 Gallon Commercial Tanker. Designed in cooperation with our valued partners (W.S. Darley, UPF Poly-Tank and Kenworth) Fouts Bros created the best value and most affordable piece of Fire Apparatus in the industry.

Fouts Bros Fire Equipment introduced an industry-best Standardized Commercial Tanker and then we made it scalable to meet Departments needs and customizable to meet their expectations. Through this customization and the small-town Customer Direct Sales Approach (CDSA) Fouts Bros has been able to manufacture and deliver over 1000 Tankers worldwide.

Product Line Expansion

With the success of the Standard Tanker Line, Fouts Bros has incorporated the same production and engineering standards to develop New Standard Product Lines, including, Brush / Attack Trucks, Light & Medium Duty Rescue Units, Mini-Pumpers and our newest addition the CJ Series Commercial Pumper.
