U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss Attends WSVFD Tanker Dedication

Moultrie, GA-August 24, 2009- U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss, R-GA., attended the dedication on Monday of Westside Vol. Fire Dept.'s new 3000 Gallon Super Tanker built by the Georgia manufacturer Fouts Bros. Fire Equipment. WSVFD purchased the tanker, from Fouts Bros., using FEMA's Assistance to Firefighter grant program (AFG). Sen. Chambliss, a resident of Moultrie, delivered the Key Note address during the dedication. He discussed the increased firefighting capablity of small town volunteer fire departments due the the federal grants handed out each year by FEMA. Over the past few years the AFG program has given volunteer departments the opportunity to replace outdated apparatus and equipment and in turn keep their communities safer.
